This afternoon I had the pleasure of asking a question to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Sajid Javid. I chose to ask the Secretary of State about the delivery of personalised healthcare in Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner in the NHS.
I choose to ask this as I know that a small number of my constituents have raised their concerns about accessing specialised services locally. It is clear that there is a need for greater capacity to reduce waiting times and ensure my constituents have access to the specialised treatment they need.
In his response, the Secretary of State outlined his vision to improve personalised provision in the NHS. While there are already more doctors and nurses in the NHS than at any time before, I listened with interest at commitments to deliver 200,000 personal health budgets and integrated personal budgets by 2023-24.
