Harrow's Conservative Council has delivered free bulky waste collection, which will commence for local residents from January 2023, something which no other neighbouring borough offers.

Residents will be able to book one free collection of up to four bulky waste items per year. At a time when the cost of living is rising, this will reduce the cost of disposing of bulky waste like furniture and mattresses.

Conservative Councillors are committed to making it easier and cheaper for local people to dispose of their waste legally and safely, which will help to discourage fly-tipping.

Cllr Anjana Patel, Harrow Council's Cabinet member for Environment & Community Safety, said:

"People want to see clean streets and an easy way to dispose of waste so we are delivering on our promise and putting residents first.
This annual free bulky waste collection will enable residents to dispose of large items quickly, help to tackle fly-tipping in our borough and give back to residents at a time when costs are rising. And for those intent on breaking the rules and illegally dumping their waste, we’ll continue to take tough enforcement action.”
