As all my constituents will be aware, the Ukrainians have been fighting valiantly against the aggression and barbarity of the Russian military. I am proud of the support that the Government has been providing to our allies in Kyiv for the last few months as we help them protect their homes and their liberties.
I am particularly proud of my constituents in Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner who have opened their homes to Ukrainian refugees through the Homes for Ukraine Scheme that has seen over 100,000 Ukrainian nationals enter the UK. I have heard first-hand how much they value the work of the Government and the Defence Secretary for the support given.
I was therefore interested to question the Minister of State for Defence on the lessons we have learned from the topic and the resilience of our own military stockpiles. I had the chance to do so in this morning’s Oral Questions in the House of Commons.
It was interesting to hear the Minister’s response regarding the lessons we have already learned and those that we will continue to learn while the war continues. This is of particular importance as the Minister outlined the Department’s interest in the intense use of artillery in the modern battlefield.
