This morning, I had a productive meeting with Neil Bradley, Head of UK and International Affairs at IAG to discuss a number of issues that affect my constituents. I know that many are directly impacted by the actions of the airline group, so it is important to maintain a healthy working relationship with senior figures.
I was glad to raise the concerns of local residents directly with Mr Bradley. Among these issues was the impact of the pandemic on British Airways (BA) and the consequences for BA's workforce. Many of my constituents who worked for BA had been in regular contact with my office during the pandemic to raise their concerns about their employment, and I was glad to have the opportunity to discuss these directly with a representative of the airline.
Beyond this conversation, I used this meeting to discuss plans for Heathrow expansion and the movement of airplanes in the skies above the constituency. There is of course ongoing work in this matter, but I am grateful for the opportunity for greater engagement over the coming months and years.
