Living Streets Walk to School Week 2021 starts next week on Monday 17 May, and I encourage mums and dads across the constituency, if possible, to take their children to school on foot.
As part of the initiative, I paid a visit to Glebe Primary School in Ickenham. When the school was rebuilt by Hillingdon Council, several measures were installed so that parents bringing children to school could do so without having to drive. It's on a really good bus route, there is plenty of space for children to park bicycles and scooters, and there are road safety measures, including a pedestrian crossing, so that children can get to school safely.
I once again encourage parents across Ruislip. Northwood and Pinner to have a look at whether you could take your children to school on foot. It's better for our physical and mental health, it's better for the environment and an improvement for everybody.
