Lockdown measures mean that face-to-face meetings are not able to be carried out at this time. In their place, I have been holding virtual surgeries and roundtables to keep in touch with residents and business owners. I was pleased to take part in a virtual roundtable with local businesses across Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner, which was organised by Natwest. It was really useful to hear from business owners about how they are facing the challenges thrown up by the pandemic, and their views on the local economy and business environment within the constituency. I will be holding further roundtables with businesses over the coming months and look forward to meeting with more owners then.
Looking at the bigger picture, I was pleased to see that the Chancellor’s 2021 Budget delivered on the commitment to provide security and stability to these businesses and individuals, providing over £407billion of support over this year and next.
