David Simmonds CBE MP visits Heath Lodge in Pinner
I was delighted to be welcomed to the wonderful Heath Lodge in Pinner last week and to meet with some of the residents.
It was a pleasure to be able to listen to their views on pressing local and national issues, such as homelessness and the TV licence, as well as offering reassurance on measures being taken by our local police in relation to the rise in drug-associated crime.
One issue that was clearly very close to residents’ hearts was retaining key local services in and around Pinner. I welcomed the positive feedback from residents following the news last month that the walk-in facilities at the Pinn Medical Centre are to be maintained for all patients. The library facilities in and around the London Borough of Harrow, including Pinner Library, which is directly opposite the apartments, are of particular significance to residents. I recognise the value and importance of these services to both young people and the elderly and will be following this issue closely.
I was also glad to be shown the impressive facilities at Heath Lodge, most notably the rooftop garden and its wonderful views, which overlook some of the fantastic green spaces we’re lucky to have in the constituency. One Health Lodge resident was kind enough to show me round her apartment, which offers some very practical features, but retains a generous homely feel.
I hope to visit Heath Lodge again in the future to meet with the residents and to continue our discussion on their views and priorities.
