I was pleased to visit the Tithe Farm vaccination centre, run by the NHS in Harrow and which serves many of my constituents.
It is an incredibly impressive set up, which is reliant on over 500 volunteers from the local community who have come forward to help our NHS colleagues in making sure that around 700 people every day are getting their Covid-19 vaccinations.
I was able to observe how these efforts have ensured an efficient vaccination process at Tithe Farm, with many of the patients telling me that it was a quick and painless experience, that they're very glad to have received one or both of their vaccine doses and are pleased to be making a real difference in keeping our community safe.
The operation at Tithe Farm runs like clockwork but there is a real human touch too. Staff and volunteers offer each patient the highest quality of welcome and personal attention on arrival, during and after the vaccination. There's also exceptional levels of reassurance and comfort to patients who seem particularly anxious.
I was also interested to review the detailed planning of the whole vaccination process at the site, which followed several weeks of preparation during the final months of 2020, as well as the wider picture today and what still needs to be done over the coming months. It really is thanks to the individual and collective efforts of everyone involved that this was able to happen so quickly and with such efficiency.
Lastly, very strongly urge anybody, when you get your invitation from the NHS to come and get vaccinated, please do book in. It will keep you, your neighbours and the wider community safe and healthy.
Thank you once again to all the volunteers who have helped make the vaccine programme possible, and for the team at Tithe Farm for their time this morning.
