Over the past few days, it became increasingly clear from my conversations with constituents and colleagues in Parliament, that they wanted Rishi Sunak to become our next PM. I am therefore delighted that it was announced today that Rishi is the new leader of the Conservative and Unionist Party.

A popular choice locally and nationally, I look forward to the party unifying behind our new Prime Minister as we continue to tackle the impacts of Covid and Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine. My constituents know that we must bring certainty in a time of great economic uncertainty. Rishi will fix our economy, deliver on the 2019 manifesto, and bring integrity to government as we seize our country’s opportunities.
