Message from David Simmonds CBE MP
I am delighted that constituents of Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner have received unprecedented economic support to protect their jobs and businesses during the Coronavirus outbreak.
10,200 jobs have been protected through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, with Government grants covering 80 per cent of people’s wages, up to £2,500 a month.
4,000 self-employed people in Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner are receiving grants worth a total of £13,300,000 from the Government to help with the impact of Coronavirus.
At what is a hugely challenging time for people, the Government has provided the security needed by protecting the livelihoods of thousands of residents across Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner. I am confident that the Government will continue to do everything it can to ensure people can pay their bills and put food on the table.
I am proud of our world-leading economic response to the coronavirus pandemic, which was designed to keep people in work, protect incomes and support businesses. The measures put in place have given the country the best chance of recovering quickly.
Now, as we move through to the second stage of the roadmap to recovery, our energies can be focused on getting people back to work safely, growing the economy and ensuring people can thrive in the new post-Covid world.
