Today, the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill came back before the House of Commons as we considered the amendments tabled by the members of House of Lords. I had the privileage of speaking during this debate to further raise my previous concerns about disruptive noises in the constituency.

Under existing legislation, the police lack the powers to tackle this common disruption that faces residents across Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner. I know from my time on Hillingdon Council that disruption caused by noise is a regular complaint for many of my constituents and I welcome the proportionate powers given to the police by this Bill.

As I outlined in my speech, this is not just about giving the police more powers that they are asking for but also to recognise what constituents, businesses and residents have been asking for some time. 

I am confident that this important Bill will be welcomed by the vast majority of my constituents and I eagerly await its passage into law.
