In Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner, we are fortunate to have an array of local independent, often family-run, businesses on our doorstep. I know how much these are cherished by residents, accounting for their longevity on our high streets, even in spite of the pandemic.
It has been incredibly tough for businesses over the past 18 months and so it is important that we recognise and celebrate our small, family-run businesses, that play a huge part in shaping the unique character of our local communities.
As such, I was delighted to show my support for these businesses, by taking part in the Institute for Family Businesses first ever Family Business Week, running between 22nd and 26th November. I met with the extended family running Jack's Ruislip Park Stables, where many children get to experience a taste of the countryside in our wonderful suburb.
It was an excellent opportunity to celebrate the contribution this and all family-run businesses make to our local communities.
