This morning, I had the pleasure of questioning the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport on support for outdoor activity centres such as the Hillingdon Outdoor Activities Centre (HOAC) in Harefield.
Many generations of children have benefited from the excellency of HOAC over the years, yet I know that the past few years have been a worrying time for the centre. With the disruption caused by the construction of HS2, the HOAC has faced immediate danger, which I have been working to mitigate.
Ensuring the future of the centre and the opportunities that it creates for young people across the borough, I pressed the Secretary of State on future government support.
In her response, the Secretary of State assured me that the Government was committed to keeping these centres open. She went on to reiterate the support that the Government had already made available to outdoor activity centres to help support them during periods of extended closures.
