Local businesses are the foundations of the economy, and I am proud that there are so many thriving businesses and entrepreneurs in Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner. I am keen that the Government continues to listen to these businesses when deciding upon future policy.
To that end, I was pleased to ask Ministers at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy how they are working with small businesses across the country. This is of particular concern at the moment as we move away from the EU and help small businesses in tackling new challenges when trading with our EU partners.
In his response, the Minister responsible was quick to reassure me that the department will continue to engage with SMEs on a wide range of issues including on the repeal of left-over EU legislation.
